Samsung Experience 8.1 was released to the public on 21 April 2017 alongside the Galaxy S8. This update fixed the design for the Crossed Fingers emoji, and included other minor design updates.

This update ran Android Nougat 7.0: the same releases as the original Samsung Nougat update. This version also contains the same number of emojis as the previous release.
